Qualities That Make A Person Successful

If you really want to bring success in your life, you should cultivate yourself just as you’d cultivate a garden for the best yield. Here are the traits that the highly successful people cultivate. These traits may sound simple, but they lead to remarkable results.

1.       Desire:
The motivation to succeed comes from the burning desire to achieve a purpose. A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results. Napoleon Hill wrote: “whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe the mind can achieve”.
2.       Courage:
Successful people work to confront the fears that hold most people back. The biggest enemies to our success are fear and doubt. Fear might not be the only reason, but is one of the major reasons why many people miss out a great opportunity. So face your fear. The ability to confront your fear is the mark of the superior person. If you have desire, and you can confront your fears and do the things that are holding you back, those two things alone will make you a great success.
3.       Commitment:
Commitment makes people who play to win. If you want to excel at anything in life you need to be committed. If you only want to be good enough to get by, then a commitment to excellence is not necessary. If you are committed to a cause, you don’t need to tell anyone. They can tell from your actions.Vince Lombardi said, “The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor”.

4.       Hard work:
Hard work is both: a beginning and an end itself. The harder a person works, the better he feels and the better he feels, the harder he works. The best ideas will not work unless you work the ideas.  Great talent without willpower and hard work is a waste.Excellence is not luck: it is the result of a lot of hard work and practice which make a person better at whatever he is doing.
We need to learn from nature. The duck keeps paddling relentlessly underneath the water but appears smooth and calm at the top. Theodore Roosevelt said, “Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at something worth doing”.

5.       The Power Of Persistence:
Persistence is the bounce back ability. All successful people gained success because they persisted. It is a commitment to finish what you start. Persistence comes from purpose.  Life without purpose is drifting. A person who has no purpose will never preserve and will never feel fulfilled. Calvin Coolidge said: talent will not compensate for persistence neither will genius nor education. The world is full of educated derelicts. How true!  Persistent is omnipotent.
6.       Self-Confidence:
It is an attitude of confidence that comes from preparation. You have to trust yourself. It’s as simple as that and when you have that unshakable trust in yourself, you’re already one step closer to success.

No one plans for mediocre; mediocrity happens when you don’t plan. If you want to succeed, learn the traits that will make you successful and plan to living them out every day.
